Meta Moment: Today’s exploration into play for children with diverse abilities was profoundly insightful, shifting my understanding from a theoretical acceptance of inclusion to a deeply felt appreciation for its practical implementation. I had previously considered providing accommodations as the primary means of support, focusing on adjustments made for individual needs. However, this session illuminated the crucial role of creating universally accessible play environments from the outset. Witnessing examples of playgrounds designed to be navigable and engaging for all children, regardless of their physical or cognitive differences, was particularly impactful.
