Meta Moment: Theories of Play

This lesson made me realize how closely children’s play is tied to their emotions and daily experiences. I remembered playing "teacher-teacher" with my cousins, using a stick as chalk and pretending to teach. At the time, it seemed like just fun, but now I see it was helping me develop communication, leadership, and imagination skills.

Play isn’t just for passing time—it’s a crucial way for children to learn. It allows them to explore, experiment, and build confidence in a low-pressure environment. I now understand that play fosters social, cognitive, and emotional growth in ways that traditional learning often can’t.

In the future, I want to create a classroom where play is central to learning, giving students the freedom to explore and grow naturally.
